Cheapest and most expensive months
- Cheapest: June to August, right after Hajj (hot, ~44°C in Makkah).
- Moderate: October–November, January–early February.
- Most expensive: December school holidays and Ramadan, especially the last ten nights.
Spending money to carry
- Budget SAR 1,000–2,000 per person for shopping, laundry, extra transport and gifts.
- Indian debit/credit cards and UPI-linked forex cards work in most shops; keep some cash riyals for small vendors and barbers.
